Year 6 Transition Celebration Evening
As your child completes their Year 6 Transition Days, we are delighted to invite you to our Year 6 Transition Celebration Evening on Wednesday 1st July from 4:00pm–7:00pm.
This special event marks an important milestone in your child’s journey into Team Tavi and provides an opportunity for students and families to come together, celebrate, and learn more about life at Tavistock College.
The evening reflects our shared values:

🎉 What to Expect
Meet the Team Assembly
There will be a Meet the Team Assembly, led by our Headteacher, Mr Buchanan, alongside the Head of Year 7 and the Year 7 Tutor Team.
This will be an opportunity to celebrate the achievements, enthusiasm, and resilience shown by students during their transition experience and to officially welcome them into the Tavistock College community.
College Life Carousel
Families will also have the opportunity to visit a range of information stands and meet key members of our College community. The carousel will include:
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)Wellbeing
Behaviour and Culture
Year 7 Pastoral Team
Directorate Stands – an opportunity to meet our academic leaders and ask any questions you may have about teaching and learning
Local Stakeholder Board – meet members of our governance team and learn more about their role in supporting the College
Tavistock Catalyst Youth Work Team
Mental Health Support Team in Schools (available between 4:00pm and 5:30pm)
Fitness for Sport
Lawsons
These stands are designed to help families better understand the wide range of support, opportunities, and experiences available to students as they begin Year 7.
☕ PTFA Refreshments
Our Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) will be serving refreshments throughout the evening.
If you would like to make a donation towards the refreshments, it would be greatly appreciated.
The PTFA play an important role in supporting the College community and enhancing opportunities for our students. If you would be interested in becoming involved, please do visit their stand and speak with members of the team.
